Education is essential for the future of children and without it they will never be able to break the cycle of poverty. Although Primary and Secondary education in TANZANIA is free but students are required to buy their own school uniform, exercise books, pens, rulers and pencils. In such case, Tumaini Organisation grant orphans to ensure they get access to education and escape a hand to mouth existence .
Tumaini Orphan Support Organisation (TOSO) promotes better housing for orphan families. Many orphan families live in very unsafe and most terrible houses constructed of sticks and with a roof of grasses or banana-leaves that cannot withstand the heavy rains.
Many water sources are contaminated and are far away from the villages, such water is used for cleaning and cooking,the ponds are used by animals and humans alike. Tumaini Orphan Support Organisation (TOSO) promotes access to clean water for the orphans and their surrounding communities. Pure cleaning, cooking and drinking water greatly improve their health and prevents them from having to risk their lives to retrieve dirty water from water holes shared by different animals.
